San Francisco - take 2

Ok, now that I have had a month to get over my anger toward blogging, I am going to try to post again.

One of the things I wanted to do before leaving California was to go to San Francisco. So, Alli and I took advantage of the long weekend in January (thank you Martin Luther King Jr.) and headed up to San Fran for the weekend.

First things first, flying Virgin America is amazing. The cabin is lit with mood lighting...hello! How cool is that?? Apparently the mood at 6 am is purple. Every seat has it's own little touch screen and you can listen to music, watch music videos, instant message other people on the plane. watch live tv, movies, and my personal favorite...play games. I was so sad that the flight was only an hour because it was seriously so entertaining. Oh and it was only $39, which makes it even cooler.

In San Francisco we had all sorts of adventures. Relying on the train, cable cars, and taxi's in a big city that you've never been to before is an adventure itself. We went to Fisherman's Warf, saw the Golden Gate bridge, toured Alcatraz (my favorite part of the trip), wandered through Golden Gate park, ate yummy food, found Haight and Ashbury (yikes) walked around Union Square, and just enjoyed the sights and sounds of San Francisco. If you like people watching, go to San Francisco. Aside from the amazing/creepy street performers, we saw people dressed up like dogs, clowns, bushes, and much more. We're talking serious weirdos. It was a quick trip but it was fun to do all of the "touristy" stuff that I had wanted to experience.
