Porches

I love porches.  I just love sitting outside in the evening, watching the neighbors go by, enjoying the fresh air, usually with a popsicle or something yummy.  I have always said that when I have a house someday, I want it to have a porch.  I don't even want a fancy wrap around porch.  Any porch will do.  So, I was very excited when I arrived at my current house and saw that it had a porch.  My dear roommate even bought chairs for the porch for my birthday.  We (Alli and I) have been working on our "yard" a lot lately.  (I say "yard" because we have rocks instead of a lawn so it doesn't really feel like a yard.)  We have been weeding and pruning and watering and fertilizing and planting and poisoning.  So, after a month of living here, we have the view from our front porch looking much better than it did when we arrived. 

Our friend Ashlee was over the other night and we were discussing how nice it is to just sit out on the front porch at night and we came up with "Front Porch Fridays". It's quite simple. We are going to hang out on the front porch on Friday night and hope that fun people will stop by and hang out with us! We will have a treat to share and we will enjoy the simplicity of just being outside chatting, eating and hopefully having fun. We are really excited about it so we'll see how it goes tomorrow.
